A Week in Paris & the Loire Valley

Paris & Loire valley

From the City of Lights
to the Royal Castles

This week-long escape combines the allure of Paris with the fairy-tale splendor of the Loire Valley’s castles and countryside.

Begin in Paris, exploring the Île de la Cité and Latin Quarter, the Louvre’s masterpieces, and the grandeur of Versailles and the Eiffel Tower, before tracing the city’s 19th-century elegance at the Musée d’Orsay, the Opéra Garnier, and the artistic streets of Montmartre.

Then escape to the Loire Valley to discover its most iconic châteaux: the majestic Chambord, the dramatic Blois, the graceful Chenonceau, and royal Amboise, final resting place of Leonardo da Vinci, with a visit to Clos Lucé, his last residence. Stroll through the lively old town of Tours and soak in a region where Renaissance splendor meets romantic river landscapes.

          05

          Chambord and Blois

Arrival in the Loire Valley. Enjoy a pick up at your hotel in Paris or elsewhere by your guide and travel in a private vehicle.

Chambord. Commissioned in 1519 by Francis I of France, Chambord is the Loire’s largest château, famed for its skyline of ornate chimneys and vast forested estate. Its remarkable double-helix staircase — often linked to Leonardo da Vinci — and panoramic rooftop terraces make it one of the most extraordinary Renaissance landmarks in France.

Lunch. Enjoy lunch in a charming local bistro or at a refined countryside restaurant for a more elevated experience. Alternatively, savor a beautifully arranged picnic by the river between the chateaux.

Chateau de Blois. Perched above the river, Blois welcomed seven kings and ten queens, from Louis XII and Anne of Brittany to the Renaissance court of Francis I. Its grand staircases and candlelit chambers still whisper of romance and intrigue, including the legend of Catherine de’ Medici’s mysterious cabinet of secrets.

Overnight Options. Stay in a historic manor or castle and enjoy a gourmet dinner paired with renowned local wines, or opt for a cosy boutique hotel in Tours, followed by a sumptuous dinner in one of its authentic restaurants and an evening stroll through its charming medieval streets.

            06

            Chenonceau, Amboise & Clos Lucé

Chateau de Chenonceau. One of the Loire Valley’s most enchanting estates, it is often called the “Ladies’ Castle”. It was shaped over centuries by influential women including Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Médicis. Built gracefully across the river and surrounded by elegant gardens, this château also served as a hospital during World War I.

Lunch and wine tasting. Enjoy a private wine tasting in a troglodyte cellar, discovering Loire Valley stars such as Vouvray and Chinon, paired with a leisurely traditional lunch.

Chateau d'Amboise. This royal residence overlooking the Loire River is the final resting place of Leonardo da Vinci, who spent his last years here under the devoted protection of King Francis I — a bond of admiration and friendship that united genius and royalty in the twilight of the Renaissance.

Clos Lucé. Enjoy a guided tour of Leonardo da Vinci’s last residence, where his inventions, drawings, and artistic vision reveal the genius of the Renaissance master. Learn the story behind his masterpieces like the Mona Lisa.

Flexible conclusion. Enjoy a comfortable transfer to Paris, Tours, Orleans, or choose to stay overnight to continue exploring the Loire Valley castles or neighboring regions.

              07

              Farewell to France

Enjoy a private transfer to the airport in Paris or train station for departure.

                08

                Optional Experiences

Hot-air balloon over the Loire. Drift at sunrise above the Loire Valley and Château d’Amboise, taking in sweeping views of rivers, vineyards, and castle rooftops.

Private photoshoot. Capture your journey with a professional photoshoot in Paris or the Loire Valley, framed by iconic landmarks or romantic château scenery.
