        Senlis. Stop in Senlis to stroll through medieval streets lined with 16th-century half-timbered houses, surrounding a cathedral once favored by France’s early Capetian kings.

        Abbaye de Royaumont. Visit this Gothic masterpiece founded by King Louis IX between 1228 and 1235. Admire its vast vaulted halls—the largest Cistercian vaults in France—the cloister, and three remarkable gardens shaped by a network of canals.
